Do you enjoy reading books on environmental topics? Wish you had someone to discuss them with? This is your chance to join a new grassroots environmentally-themed book club for Ward 21 and beyond.

Our book discussion will be on April 28th about the following book:
Braiding Sweetgrass: Indigenous Wisdom, Scientific Knowledge
By Robin Wall Kimmerer

"Drawing on her life as an indigenous scientist, a mother, and a woman, Kimmerer shows how other living beings—asters and goldenrod, strawberries and squash, salamanders, algae, and sweetgrass—offer us gifts and lessons, even if we’ve forgotten how to hear their voices."

It is a wonderful book, so start reading, and come ready to discuss what you learned and whether the book inspired you to action. To help pick the book for the fall book club meeting, come ready to share your suggestions for other interesting books you’ve read recently and how you feel they relate to the environment. If you would like to, you can bring your books to swap with other people's favourite books.

A full list of February’s book club favourites is available in our website blog here.
