Environmental Book Club for Green Neighbours 21 and everyone!

Apr 12 2019 - 2:30pm
The Tollkeeper's Cottage, 750 Davenport Rd, Toronto (NW corner Davenport Road and Bathurst Street)

Admission: Free. Everyone welcome.
Everyone is invited to read "21 Lessons for the 21st Century" by Yuval Noah Harrari (2018)" and join in a discussion of the book at our GN21 Spring Book Club meeting. If you’d like to attend, please email greenneighbours@gn21.ca to let us know (space is limited).

The book is available at the Toronto Public Library. The good news is that there are almost 200 copies. The bad news is that there are currently over 800 holds.

Here’s a bit about the book:

21 Lessons for the 21st Century confronts some of the most urgent questions on today’s global agenda.

The topics examined include major challenges such as international terrorism, fake news, and migration, as well as turning to more personal, individual concerns, such as our time for leisure or how much pressure and stress we can take.

21 Lessons for the 21st Century answers the overarching question: What is happening in the world today, what is the deeper meaning of these events, and how can we individually steer our way through them?”

Please come to the meeting ready to talk about “21 Lessons”. Also bring suggestions for a book for us to read during the summer for our Fall Book Club meeting. This time let’s not choose a book with an excessive number of holds at the library!

Till then, happy reading!
